Trump’s recent crypto executive order closed the door (probably?) on wholesale CBDC. Yet launching a cross-border wholesale central bank digital dollar would be a boon for American foreign policy, even if it would be a heavy lift. The move was shortsighted. It’s worth asking, what would such a digital dollar look like?
